What to expect from our carers
Our carers are there to provide help and support for someone who may need additional help in their daily life due to a disability, injury, or illness. Our carers are experienced in providing medical, physical, and psychological care.
The day-to-day duties of our carers are varied and may consist of tasks including light housework such as cleaning, laundry, shopping and cooking, assistance with personal care, supervising medication, physiotherapy. Our carers build a trusting relationship with their patient and an understanding of their ability and needs, aiding or encouraging independence where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
The Ideal Applicants for Carer Jobs
Our carers need to of course be caring and intuitive to someone’s needs as they may not always be able to communicate it effectively. They need to care deeply about ensuring someone can have as fulfilling a life as they can and feel safe in their care.
They will show respect and discretion at all times, allowing someone to feel comfortable in even the most personal and intimate of times.
They will need to have patience and sympathy and understand that sometimes behaviour for the people they care for can be out of frustration, medication or part of their illness such as dementia or following a stroke.
